1. If you watched the Age of Ultron trailer fifty bazillion times and then showed it to every person in your family, whether they wanted to see it or not!

I think the most surprised person right now is myself.

Namely, I did NOT foresee myself liking the Mazerunner movie, much less posting a semi-nice review on it.

Why is this a shock?  Well, haha, I really hated the book and ran screaming away from it.



Strangely enough, no matter how skeptical I was, the movie was slightly nicer to me and is one of the few cinema experiences I've liked better than the book.

Two teaser trailers for  movies I'm looking forward to just came out in a matter of days.  And I thought y'all just might want to partake in my major fangirl feelings of joy and watch them too!!!!  Hobbit and Hunger Games fans, these are for you.

I thought the use of Pippin's song from LOTR was really well done in this trailer.  And that is all I shall say.  Have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday! (or what's left of it...)

So I don't even know where to start.  How about if I start by telling you that this was-no joke- one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life.  It tops Avengers!! 
One thing I admire about MARVEL is that they just keep getting better.  Captain America 2 crushed its prequel soundly! 





Let's start with Captain America himself, our super hero of the day.  He (obviously) doesn't go through much character change, although it does show him still struggling a little to try and fit into the modern century after being gone so long.  He's a great super hero, and, unlike super man, who I can not relate to in any way, I do sympathize with Cap.  Not only is he suddenly thrown a curve ball about who's good and who's bad, which leaves him baffled and struggling for answers, but someone who he thought he knew turns bad and now he's forced to fight and try to kill this person.  !!!!!  Talk about connn-flict. 

All in all he's a good character, not bad to look at, and although he doesn't go through any character change I say for this kind of movie it works well!

Sooooo remember how I told you I had a Harry Potter cry-fest whilst watching the Deathly Hallows part two a few months ago? Haha, I never learn.  Last weekend I did the same thing, again, except with Catching Fire.  Terribly wonderful movie, that one. 



Where to start.  Hum.  Well first off, MOVIE DIRECTORS EVERYWHERE TAKE NOTE.  The way they followed the Catching Fire book was astounding!  Sure there were a few people they had to cut for length and for minor importance, but I was consistently impressed with every new scene.  Catching Fire was my favorite book in the trilogy, by far, and so for them to be so loyal to it really made the movie for me! 

Characters-

Katniss Everdeen-  In this film she's definitely grown.  The Hunger Games changed her, and not necessarily for the better.  She's more distant, and more selfish, which is already leading up to Mockingjay.   But her love for a certain person has also grown, and there were a few scenes where I was just "yup!  there ya go!  I do like you!"   She goes through so much in this film, and there's one fantastic plot twist that just leaves you gaping.  I literally had to keep myself from shouting when I read it for the first time!  I think one of her biggest qualities is the way she loves those close to her.  If you even lay a finger on her family or loved ones you'd better be prepared to pay the consequences for it, which they definitely brought out even more in the second film.

Peeta Mellark- This movie was extremely bittersweet because I've read Mockingjay, therefore I know exactly what happens to each of the characters.  No spoilers, but what happens to Peeta kills me.  So every time I see him in the movie it's like this punch in the gut. 
His character development was pretty minimal, I'd say.  He's still the lover from the first movie, but with a sense of maturity to him.

There's so many more great characters I could go into.  Prim is growing up, Haymitch and Elly have grown fond of their victors so you see different sides of them, Finnick is PERFECT, I won't even begin to talk about Cinna for reasons I can't say, I enjoyed Johanna much more in the movie then in the book, and the development in our villain is truly magnificent.  President Snow is one of those villains who are so good and they know it.  But not only does he know it, he rubs it in Katniss' face every chance he gets, which makes him doubly hateful.

I LOVED Frozen.  I'm still thinking about it days afterwards, singing the songs around the house and trying to figure out a way to buy the soundtrack.  It had the same magical-musical feel as Tangled, with adorable characters and fun plot twists.  There were aspects of both that I love, and I'll go over those.

First, the main characters.  Ana and Elsa, the two sisters and pretty much main characters, were done really well.  You can tell the difference in their circumstances and situations have changed both of them, not necessarily for the best.  They were unique and different (which was impressive because of the number of Disney princesses' personalities they've created), and both girls were beautiful singers.  Which brings me to the music.  I really think this was one of the big parts in why Tangled and Frozen are some of my favorite Disney movies.  Their music!  Ana and Elsa's voices were incredible, and the songs were very catchy.  Maybe a little TOO catchy.  I was seriously singing "Do you wanna build a snowman" all day yesterday.  :)

The romance aspect was good too.  I liked how they brought out the fact that love at first sight isn't necessarily true love, whereas true love can be found in places that you would never expect, like Ana and- oops!  No spoilers!
Also that a true love's kiss doesn't always solve everything, unlike, say Sleeping Beauty.  Which makes me think how ironic it would be if Sleeping Beauty's prince never came!  Or he did but didn't want to kiss her?  But I'm getting off track!
The very end was a bit of a let down, though.  I don't know how to tell you about it without spoiling it, so I'll just say it felt too easy.  For me, the Tangled ending was so unexpected and selfless and beautiful, and the Frozen ending did have those elements but not to such an extent. 

I can't remember much else, except that it made me want to laugh and cry and dance and sing all at the same time.  By far one of the best movies I've seen in a long time!
