Inspirational Songs (Part 2)

Monday, November 11, 2013

The last music post I did was songs to help pump up your workout.  Did you try any of them?  I sure hope so, because trust me, they are FUN.
Next for Part 2 I have a list of songs divided up into three categories: Dramatic, Bittersweet/Sad, and Happy/Fun.  I know there's a lot of artists and writers out there who read my blog, and I also know that I'm not the only one who uses music a lot to inspire me when I'm lacking.

So I've made three lists of different songs that either help me to feel dramatic, sad, or just really happy.  These are all only instrumental, by the way.  I don't know about you but when I'm trying to write a scene having TobyMac blasting in my ears doesn't help my concentration at all!

(Also just a note I haven't watched all of the movies that these soundtracks are from but they have such amazing soundtracks that I had to add them)

DRAMATIC:
  • Requiem For A Dream by Jennifer Thomas
  • I've Seen Hell from North&South soundtrack
  • Prologue from Thor soundtrack
  • Code Name Vivaldi by Piano Guys
  • 300 Violin Orchestra by Jorge Quintero (I LOVE THIS ONE)

SAD/BITTERSWEET

  • Melancholy Morning by Joe Bongiorno
  • Breath of Life by  Howard Shore
  • Oblivate from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 soundtrack (Another one of my favorites.  SUPER sad)
  • Can you see Jane? from Thor soundtrack

  • When Ginny kissed Harry by Nicholas Hooper
  • Eventide by Jeniffer Thomas

  • Homer's Lessons from The Cider-House Rules soundtrack
  • Crystallize by Lindsey Stirling
  • Time by Paul Cardall
  • Ron Leaves from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 soundtrack

HAPPY/FUN/INSPIRATIONAL:

  • The Wardrobe from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe soundtrack
  • Old friends from the Hobbit soundtrack
  • Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Carribbean Sountrack
  • The Beginning of the adventure from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe soundtrack
  • Over the Rainbow/Simple Gifts by The Piano Guys

Also, if any of you have Pandora, here are some fantastic composers you really need to check out!

Howard Shore, The Piano Guys, Lindsey Stirling, Nicholas Hooper, Harry Gregson-Williams, James Horner, John Powell, John Williams, Patrick Doyle, Ramin Djawadi, Alan Silvestri, and Alaxandre Desplat.

What do you like to listen to when you need inspiration?

    1. Hehe, I'm sure they do. Yes! You really should. All of these songs are fun to listen to while doing school as well since there aren't any distracting lyrics.
