Blueberry Oatmeal Banana Bread

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Good morning!!  Are you alive-alert-awake this lovely Wednesday?  Or is this more you: "Good morning."  *yaaaawwwn*  "So- yah.  Good morning.  Or did I already say that?"

Some news from the Salts' house to start off.... I drove for the first time!  Technically I only drove for about two minutes but it felt much longer.  MUCH.
My mom had an errand to make to Walgreens and we thought it'd be a good time to practice driving!  We might have started a little too soon.

I forgot I had brakes and so we were going way too fast down the hill, and then inching up much too slowly towards the stop lights.  There was no in-between for me.  I was all or nothing!
Now I've decided that neighborhood streets and back roads are going to my new best friend for the next weeks!

Now.  Back to this bread.  Banana Bread in general has always been a favorite of my whole family, me included.  Chocolate chip banana bread is even better.  But when my mom decided to experiment with blueberries and oatmeal, they weren't very pleased.  They thought she was ruining it!  RUINING IT?  Oh well, more for me I guess! :)

It's really the easiest thing. Take your favorite banana bread recipe (be sure to double it if you're like me and can't get enough of it!) and once you've mixed it up and put it in the bread pans, just sprinkle blueberries and oats on top and bake as you normally would.
