"How About That?" My 2014 Recap

In a matter of a year I went skiing for the first time, turned sixteen, played my third year volleyball, visited Florida again, viewed the last ever Tolkien movie to ever grace the theater screen,  and participated in a drama class and production.   Eeesh.
The concept of New Year's Day is a funny one.  There isn't really a distinct feeling attached to it, like there is with Thanksgiving or Christmas.  The day before New Year's Eve finds me sneaking the last of the Christmas cookies before I resolutely resolve to "eat healthier" and "exercise more", starting (of course) on January 1st.  Until then, the peanut butter cookies aren't going to eat themselves!

New Year's Eve isn't much different, except for the feeling of anticipation for midnight.  12:00, and what then?

12:01.

You see, I don't get terribly nostalgic and sentimental about the past year.  Heck, there are so many things from 2014 I will be glad to forget!

But 2015 holds promise, you know.  Happy things like seeing old friends and making new ones. More coffee dates.  More volleyball games.  More car trips and hugs and tears and crazy feelings and ridiculous memories that are bound to leave me laughing my head off on the carpet.

There will be movies to see (I'm looking at you Avengers 2!) and books to devour read, friends to text poop emoticons to, and dance parties to be had.  And through it all so MANY many chances to dive even deeper into an intimate relationship with my wonderful Savior.

Not only do I want to try this reading challenge:

Reading Challenge 2015

but I'm hoping to run more, write more, listen more, and really work at remembering birthdays and names.  As all my friends can tell you, that is not my cup o' tea.  Even more importantly I want to live life genuinely and to the fullest, until its overflowing with love and authentic  joy.

......

But, you know, that's all.

Y'all ready for this?

I would never have soared nearly this high without you guys.
You are all WONDERFUL!!!
So let's celebrate with glitter and lots of sleep.  I hope you're with me :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
