Prayer Request: Paster Saeed

Friday, December 06, 2013

I don't know if many of you have heard of him, but Paster Saeed majorly needs prayer.  A few months ago he was arrested for preaching the gospel in Algeria, and thrown into their worst prison for "criminals", Evin prison.  There one condition for letting him out: Deny God, and live.  This was something he was not willing to do, and all through these terrible months he has kept firm and not denied his Heavenly Father.
Since then he has been repeatedly beaten, starved, and deprived.  He now has internal bleeding, and the only way they would let him go to the hospital is if he puts on the uniform that brands him as a murderer.  He finally agreed, even though he was innocent of any crime, and the hospital saw his uniform and turned him down.

Even when we were sure things couldn't get worse they did.  Apparently putting him in this prison wasn't bad enough.  Now he's been moved to the first worst prison in Algeria, a murderer's prison.  "Pastor Saeed's "cell" is only separated by a curtain from the rest of the violent prisoner ward he is forced to share, allowing dangerous prisoners - murderers and rapists - unfettered access to him 24 hours a day." (Quoted from Cross map christian post)  He's been threatened at knife-point, had things stolen from him, and now he has lice.
Peoples, this man is going to die in there if something doesn't happen soon.  He is extremely sick, has internal bleeding, and even his wife coming before President Obama to plead for his release has come up with nothing.  Please please please pray.  HARD.   It's so difficult to see right now why God still has him in there, but we need to trust.

Things to specifically pray for:

  • He would continue to have faith in God
  • God would bless his family with peace
  • The prison would continue to allow Paster Saeed's father to come visit him
  • The biggest request of all: That God would keep him safe and eventually allow him to leave the jail
Thank you so much for listening.  My family and I pray for him every day, and I hope you remember to do this too.  This man needs all the prayer he can get.

Love,
Chloe
