Summer Workshop

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  *hugs everyone*  I missed you all so much, and I have plenty of pictures and memories and such to share with you all:)
Summer Workshop, in a word, was epic.  One whole week of being people who love to write just like me, who will do sword battles and cup games and who will dress up in costumes and don't care what you look like-they love you all the same.
The sessions were incredible, I have seriously never been so inspired in all my life!  My critique group was really fun as well, and I felt like I got a lot of really good feedback.  Here's a picture...

(Left to right: Morgan, Me, Gabrielle, Nathan, Franchesca, Gabrielle, Theresa (or, Eesie), and my critique group leader, Kyle)

It was fun to hear the variety of stories that everyone had, some fantasy, some historical fiction.  There was even a screen play about zombies.

Yup.
That was interesting, to say the least.

This is the bell center, where we did critique groups and sessions and hung out.

Here's the inside; as usual, FULL of people!!

This is Gabrielle and Eesie, the latter of whom I got to know well.  They were both awesome:)

The epic Mr. S ^

Imagine the most extraverted person you know, triple that, and you have Mrs S!

This is Funzy, or, Emma.  I was starting to get to know her well, too, by the end of the week!

Jess, my awesome dorm room buddy, sword fighting with Reuben.  He wore a different hat everyday.

This is Sam, and she will probably hate me for showing you all this picture of her, but it totally gets her personality!  I loved hanging out with her too!!!

The cafeteria!!!  It always had really good food, and so many options to choose from!
This was where we spent a lot of time as well, just hanging out and trying to beat the rush of people wanting to get ice cream.

Savanna, in her lovely writer's costume...

And Jess, texting her mom:)

All in all, I had a blast.  I was on a high all week from being around so many people my age!  It was the perfect amount of days- I was crying because I had to leave, but in a way I was ready to go home and get some actual sleep!!  Staying up until 2 in the morning with Jess and having midnight snacks probably didn't help.....

Another really cool thing was how God was promoted in all of it!!  In EVERY session God was mentioned, given the praise to, and totally glorified!  I was amazed!!  it was so refreshing, and I came away having learned so much and wanting to go back next year:)

Until the next random post,
Chloe

  1. Wow, sounds like lots of fun! Screen play on zombies, huh? :) Did you feel like you made progress on your story? Or did you just come home with more ideas that before?! Mrs. S sounds like a blast, as does midnight snacks:) I had a couple of those at camp as well! Glad you are back, missed you! *hugs back!*

  2. Oh, I'm so excited to see pictures of camp! I loved hearing about these people in our phone conversation and then getting to put their names with actual faces. I'm so glad you had a great time, and I'm even gladder that you're home. Can't wait to see you in person! I'm missing you!
