The TBR Tag

Sunday, September 21, 2014

I'm excited, y'all.  No, I'm not from the south, and no I've not been officially tagged for the TBR (To-Be Read) tag.

Soooooo I was "unofficially" tagged.  That is, I was told anyone could grab the tag.  Which is what I decided to do.  So!  I shall answer the questions and pretend I don't feel like a major stalker-person.

1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

Um- I don't.  I generally run through the library, trying to remember which book out of the Pendragon series I was on, and whether or not someone had recommended the book about peculiar children.  Goodreads is wonderful, though, and helps a bit.

2. Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

Always print!!!!

3. How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

I always read depending on which books are at the library at that time.  And then generally out of those, I read the one I've been looking forward to the most or has the prettiest cover.  The poor little boring cover books I leave for last.  Yes, I am heartless.

4 A book that's been on your TBR the longest?

*looks through Goodreads list*
Most likely the Book Thief.  I started it years ago, and then saw a swear word and closed it with a huge bang.  Seeing any swear word still makes me cringe, no doubt about it, but I'm thinking that the swear words in this particular story are minimal and far between in actuality.

5. A book you recently added to your TBR.

Tiger's Curse, by Colleen Houck.  It's come very highly recommended!  And it's cover is so pretty. I kind of have a thing for covers.

6. A book in your TBR strictly because of it's beautiful cover.

Six Months Later by Natalie D. Richards.  The font is what gets me.
It's actually really sad how many times I've been duped by a gorgeous book cover at the library, picked it up and started reading only to be disgusted after three sentences.

7. A book in your TBR that you never plan on reading.

Books like The Fiddler's Gun, (didn't come highly recommended) The Summer of Cotton Candy (looks like a cheesy teen romance, whadya know?), and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (read the back of the movie rating and said no).

8. An unpublished book in your TBR that you're excited for.

SO MANY BUT OKAY.  Probably the most excited for the final book in The Lunar Chronicles, titled Winter.  I HAVE BEEN WAITING WAY TOO LONG FOR THIS BOOK.

Are they not beautiful covers themselves?  I originally snagged Cinder sorely for its cover.

9. A book in your TBR that everyone recommends to you.

It used to be The Giver, which I FINALLY read.  Now it's probably The Book Thief or Jane Eyre.  I'm 3/4 of the way through that book and I have never mustered enough brain power to finish. Someday I will. SOMEDAY.

10. Number of books in your TBR.

At least 200.  Oh the joys of being a bookworm.  (and yes even though I complain you must understand that I absolutely love it)

  2. Great post! I might sound sort of weird, but what exactly does TBR stand for? I googled it and it said "to be real" and I was like, Okay, that doesn't really make sense. :)And also, do you recommend the book Six Months later? It looks interesting but I'm not sure if it's exactly a good book, so I'd love to know what you thought about it! Thank you so much :)
