What I've been reading lately

Thursday, February 21, 2013

I LOVE reading.  That may just be an understatement.  I could do it day and night, and I have quite a few of my favorites!  Here are some good ones that I've been reading lately!!!

  1. Secondhand Charm (This one...Is different, and I'm not sure if I'd readily recommend it.  There are some interesting things in it.. So-read with caution.  Nothing bad, but it IS a young adult book, and it is SO hard to find a book that has nothing bad in it anymore!  I did like the good parts in it, though) By Julie Barry
  2. Alanna: The First Adventure  (This is actually a series, but I've only read the first one, and loved what I read!)  By Tamora Pierce
  3. Mossflower (Also a part of a series, REDWALL series, that I love, and this is the second book.  The first one is just as good, if not better) By Brian Jacques
  4. The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey (Another series that I love, called the Mysterious Benedict Society.  It's just so fun to read!!  And a mystery, which is always fun) By Trenton Lee Stewart
  5. The Screwtape Letters (This is just so funny!  A thought provoking book by C.S. Lewis, I loved it!) By C.S. Lewis
  6. The Thirteenth Princess (A re-telling of the twelve dancing princesses)  By Diane Zahler; I loved this author's other books as well
  7. Sherlock Holmes (Yes!!!  I really enjoyed this!  I don't normally read mysteries, and I just liked the author's style)  By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; I did read the children's version, just so y'all know.
And just a few of my all time favorites.....

  1. Princess of the Midnight Ball
  2. Princess Academy
  3. Anne of Green Gables series
Yes, I have SOOO many more, but it's hard to think of them on the spot.  (All of these are at the Manhattan Library)

  3. Weird....Hmmm, it's hard to describe. There was just some interesting "connections" so to speak, if you understand. You know in some books they have almost supernatural powers? Well, the main character has a connection with a laviathem (please don't ask how to spell that, I know I didn't spell it correctly!)
Also, there's some little things with charms and protection, hence the name.
